Dream Chasers

The Three P’S of a “Dream Chaser”

Dream Chasers are perseverant. They work hard, and they go the extra mile even when others are not willing to do so.  They are also very passionate about their work. The Quality of their work is very important to them. When other people, “Dream Killers”, discredit their work it does not bother them because they are invested and they love what they do. Dream chasers are persistent. Life often throws them curve balls, but they learn how to make the best out of the situation. They never take “No” for an answer.

Examples of Dream Chasers

-J.K Rowland (Author of Harry Potter): 12 publishers rejected her manuscript for her first children’s book. She was told that her book would not be profitable, but she continued to submit her manuscripts. Today, she is a world-renowned author and screenwriter.

-Michael Jordan (Basketball Legend and Shoe Designer): He was told as a high school basketball player that he lacked skills. He could have quit the team but he did not. In fact, he continued to play and was drafted into the NBA. As a result of his perseverance, he is now a multi-billion dollar entrepreneur. According to Jordan, "Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it."

-Bill Gates (Dropped out of college to development Microsoft): He is now considered to be one of the richest men in the world. He also has a scholarship foundation named after him called the Bill Gates Millennium Scholarship.

Steps to Becoming A Dream Chaser

1.Trust God: If God gave you a vision he will provide. God does not call the qualified, He qualifies the called (1 Corinthians 1:26)

2.Don’t Take it Personal: When Dream Killers try to annihilate your dreams or people do not understand your passion- understand that God gave you a vision and not them. Therefore, they do not have to understand.

3.Don't Compare Yourself: We all have the same 24 hours in a day. God has provided you with the resources that you need. Stop Comparing yourself to others. If you want it, work for it! Faith without works is Dead (James 2:14-26).

4.Develop the “There is No Such Thing as No” Mentality.…..(Unless the “No” is from God ..and even his “No” means “Yes”….We’ll have to talk about that is another blog):This means that if barriers arise ,then you exhaust every resource known to man until your goal is reached and your dream is achieved. Tell yourself every day that you are equipped with all the tools you need to thrive.  I recite the ten finger prayer, I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13).
